Who?

Prithvi Rakhyani. The name is straight forward, but you can call me P for now.

Born and raised in Panama / India, have spent the last few years in the US—undergrad at Florida State University, grad school at UNC Greensboro—and currently full-timing it at Painting Contractors Association, as a Digital Project Manager.

Work

Current role! Started as a Website Coordinator, now a Digital Project Manager. Almost everything on PCA's website is my brainchild, and there have been so many other fun projects I've worked on as well––an LMS, a SaaS, a podcast, MMS, and more.

Graduated (MS) from UNC Greensboro and spent that time (and then some) working as a Web Developer for the school of HHS. This is predominantly where I learnt the ins and outs of web development (I was given a very thick book against my will).

First job after my BS at Florida State University - worked with Panamá's leading newspaper company to lead the design and dev. of the country's first ever digital digital real estate platform! (Think... Zillow).

(Some) stereotypes hold true–I am the one Indian kid who everyone comes to for specific apps, tech support, and more. The "grind" and "hustle" mentality led me to incorporating a daily morning routine where I scoured the internet for tools that can improve efficiency. This birthed TTL - a digital productivity newsletter.

Though I didn't work on this till the first week of lockdown hit, I've wanted to work on this ever since I learnt people can actually make websites. Exhausted of reading endless essays on recipe-making-journeys, CMS lets you pick ingredients you have, and filter recipes that work for you.

I freaking love smart gadgets, I really do. The goal was to soak up the every-day-tech-news and translate it for not-very-techy folk through a blog. This was a very fun project for me (my first!)– I even attempted YouTube for a bit, as well as creating an Alexa skill and an Android app.

Hustle

Never having worked on an e-commerce before, this was a fun WooCommerce project. This North Carolina-local coffee shop wanted an online portal for folks to be able to order menu items for in-store pick up.

Café & Croissanterie.

Located all the way in Western Australia, this project was to serve as the online presence for a local Geriatric Specialist Clinic. The goal was to completely replace their existing website (Wix-based) and allow for more features (particularly a ton of forms that allowed for custom-logic).

Geriatric Specialist Service.

Though web design/dev is my bread and low-fat butter, this project had a different spin. The website has been operational for several years, but their digital presence was lacking. I came on to perform an SEO overhaul, improve site accessibility, and performance. It helps that I now know the painting trade!
